Get on the Grid
The league / In development
A proposed professional home for Gridball. Built around co-ed teams, complete players, and a shared standard of competition.
The first playtest is still in planning. This page explains the league model we’re developing, from the roster to the people who run a match.

The roster model
Each team has seven male-identifying and seven female-identifying players. Two teammates play on the Grid while twelve wait off-grid. Across both teams, that means four active players and twenty-four on the benches.
Prime, Major, Minor, and Entry are quadrants, not fixed player positions. When a player is eliminated, the relevant players advance and that team’s Next In player enters at Entry.
See rotation in actionThere is no gender requirement for the two players on the Grid or the Next In player; deployment is a coaching decision.

The identity of a club
Soccer-adjacent collared polos and shorts. A shared NGL structure with room for each club’s colors, crest, and culture.

Club names, crests and sponsors shown are concepts, not confirmed clubs or partnerships.
The proposed match setup keeps the court, benches, and operations connected.

Scoring, the clock, rotation tracking, and match records support the game. These roles sit alongside the four court Officiators.
The league format is in development. These are the questions the game needs to answer.
How do length, pacing, and scoring create a compelling competition?
How do teams train complete players and manage rotation?
How should scheduling, rankings, and postseason play fit together?
